I'm talking mostly about smartphones. Here's the deal - everyone is ADDICTED to their phone. It's a problem! I legit went to a party last night, and no one was every talking to each other because they were texting or on Instagram, and I was just sitting there like "hey guys wanna play a game" and they were like "eh".
Ugh, it's SO annoying. And dangerous! My friends are literally OBSESSED with their phones. For example, I texted one of my friends the other day and I was like "I found my phone! It's been lost for like a day". And she was like "What?!?! It's been lost for A DAY? I could never survive! I would die! OMG THAT'S CRAZY! Omg how did you even survive! I would feel so unsafe! A WHOLE DAY? HOW DO YOU SURVIVE WITHOUT YOUR PHONE FOR A WHOLE DAY?" So I was like "what do you even need your phone for anyway? And she was like "Instagram! Snapchat! Games! What else am I going to do when I'm bored! I would DIE of boredom if I didn't have my phone for a whole day!"
Hey guys, remember when we used to play GAMES when we were bored? And I don't mean apps, I mean ACTUAL games, like board games or card games. That was a GREAT time. Or when we used to sit down with a book and read for hours? My friends legit do not even read anymore. I asked them if they had any good book recommendations and they were like "uhh... well I don't really read any books... like ever..."
WE SHOULD JUST HAVE A DAY WHERE NO ONE USES THEIR PHONES. THEN WE WOULD ACTUALLY COMMUNICATE. AND DO STUFF. INSTEAD OF WASTING OUR LIVES.
To be honest, this cell phone thing is ridiculous. PCs/laptops are better, and why do you always need a cellphone? Selfies? Games? Twitter? What's the point of carrying a phone everywhere and not TALKING to people. I don't talk to (most) people, but I don't have a phone. I'm just a socially awkward nerd that everyone hates.
